Provincial Grand Lodge of Perthshire East
Welcome
Welcome to the official website of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Perthshire East.
The Province is situated in what has been described as the Heart of Scotland and covers a vast area within the County of Perthshire, it was formed in 1827 and the first Provincial Grand Master was George William Fox, Lord Kinnaird and Rossie, Lord Lieutenant of Perthshire and Grand Master Mason of Scotland from 1830 to 1831.
Freemasonry is an ancient and honourable society. It promotes and encourages steady principles in life in an increasingly changing world. Above all we are not a secret society and we welcome expressions of interest from men of mature age who are genuinely interested in improving society around them. Our aim is to provide information about the Masonic activities within the Province, which are of interest to both Masons and non-Masons alike.

What is Freemasonry ?
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. Its roots lie in the traditions and ceremonies of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles. Some rituals are still celebrated today.
Is Freemasonry for me ?
Freemasonry means different things to each individual, making new friends, contributing to society, celebrating tradition, experiencing personal growth, taking up a hobby or having fun.
